Wire Decking — The Right Deck for the Job

Wire decking is the cheapest insurance you can put in your warehouse. It catches dropped product, distributes load, and meets most fire-code requirements that solid decking fails.

NAWL stocks waterfall wire deck in every standard pallet rack size at our Venus, TX warehouse.

Sizes we stock

24×46, 36×46, 42×46, 42×52, 42×58, 48×46, 48×52, 48×58. Standard 2,000–2,500 lb capacities. Custom sizes ship in 7 days.

Waterfall vs flared

Waterfall is the dominant style — the wire mesh wraps over the front and back beams, locking the deck in place without hardware. Flared decking has a downturned channel that drops behind the beam; use it where you want the deck flush with the beam top.

Capacity and gauge

Capacity ratings assume evenly distributed pallet loads on a 4-channel deck. Concentrated loads (a single drum, a long box) drop the rating. Step up a gauge if you're unsure.

Fire code

Most fire codes (NFPA 13) require open decking that lets sprinkler water through. Wire deck passes. Plywood and OSB usually don't. Check your local AHJ before specifying solid.

Why dealers choose NAWL quick ship

Wire deck is a high-turnover SKU — your customers want it on the same truck as their beams. We bundle deck with rack so you ship one BOL, not two.

FAQ

What capacity should I specify?
Match deck capacity to your pallet weight plus 20%. Most general-warehouse pallets fall in the 2,000–2,500 lb range, which is our standard.
Waterfall or flared?
Waterfall is the default — easier to install and stays put without hardware. Choose flared only when you need a flush deck top.
Does wire deck meet fire code?
Yes for NFPA 13 sprinkler systems. Always confirm with your local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
